Mass of Thanksgiving to Commemorate St. Joseph's Opening

The community is invited to attend a Mass of Thanksgiving celebrating St. Joseph's Hospital's 100 years of service on September 24, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter & Paul Church in Elmira. The Most Rev. Matthew H. Clark, Bishop of Rochester will be the main celebrant at the Mass that will recognize and honor St. Joseph's 100-year commitment of healing of body, mind and spirit to the community.

The Mass of Thanksgiving celebrates 100 years to the day when St. Joseph's Hospital officially opened. On September 24, 1908 the Hospital opened its doors to the community following the dedication ceremony presided over by the Right Reverend Thomas Hickey, coadjutor Bishop of Rochester.

Many current and previous St. Joseph's employees and supporters plan to attend the Mass of Thanksgiving. For more information please contact St. Joseph's Pastoral Care Department at 607.733.6541, ext. 425.
