The DXA bone densitometry - the "gold standard" of bone assessment methods - is part of the women's imaging health services available through St. Joseph's Breast Imaging Center for Women.  The results from this test help identify patients at risk for osteoporosis, allowing them an opportunity to begin therapy to prevent further bone loss as well as limit their risk of devastating injury.
