The 1950's were the era of rock and roll. Hours were reduced to 44 per week. More emphasis was placed on correlation of theory to practice.
Affiliations for tuberculosis and psychiatric nursing were part of the curriculum. How many of you remember the Town Tavern of this era? Courses at Elmira College began in 1964 with the Class of 1967 being the first class to have college credits for some freshman courses. In 1966 the program was cut to 33 months.
