ADOPT-A SCHOOL PROGRAM
Since the 1991-92 school year, health professionals from St. Joseph's have visited area classrooms to give in-depth presentations on a variety of health topics for students between kindergarten and fifth grade. Currently, Holy Family Primary & Intermediate as well as Thomas K. Beecher Elementary and Fassett Elementary Schools are participating in the program. Call 737-7810 for further information.
BETTS KOMER SEMINARS

Free Wednesdays 4-6 P.M. in the Lobby Area of St. Joseph's Hospital (Blood Pressures Only).
Ernie Davis Family Center- First Wednesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Elmira Senior Center-Third Wednesday of the Month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Samaritan Center- 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the Month- 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
Horseheads Kmart-Last Tuesday of the month- 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

One-minute wellness information segments which can be heard on radio stations WLVY-FM, WOKN-FM, WINK106-FM, WVIN-FM, WMTT/WPHD-FM, WNGZ-FM, WPGI-FM, WWLZ-AM 820, Magic 92.7/97.7-FM and WEHH-AM. "Health Tips" can also be seen on Time Warner Cable as well as WETM-TV (NBC), WENY-TV (ABC), WYDC TV (FOX) and WSKG-TV (PBS).
HOSPITAL SHARPS COLLECTION PROGRAM
St. Joseph's Hospital wishes to remind the community that it has a policy for accepting household "sharps." According to the New York State Department of Health, the term "sharps" includes lancets, needles, and syringes.

Students ranging in age from nursery school through high school are able to receive an up-close and personal look at the behind the scenes workings of our Hospital. Throughout the year, hospital staff give many personal tours. For more information call 737-7810.
